Poetry-Thing Thursday: The All Knowing

Sex and sweat;
the stench of love,
the price of life,
and human progress.

Were it not for these,
we would not exist.
Trust in evolution,
and adaptation to hone our wits.

What do we get in return?
Silk skin, blonde hair,
colored eyes, warm thighs,
supple curves, hard angles.

Were it not for sex,
and love at that,
we would know no beauty,
nor grief or pain.

Think of this,
the next time you scheme:
whether man and woman,
man and man,
or woman and woman,
it’s all obscene.

But that’s the point.
It’s as it should be.
Love is love.

Hot, wet, reeking of shame–
or cold, fast,
naked, unclean.

But it keeps the world turning
The species going.
It is the beginning, the end,
and the all knowing.

Bonus Poem: Go Have a…

Tick and then tock.
I’ve the mind of a clock,
who’s brightened the flock,
with his elegant…

Tempo and rhyme’a,
In bodily time’a,
with a woman named Dinah,
I loved ‘er…

Muscles I flex,
for a soon-to-be ex,
maybe after she’ll hex,
but for now we’ll have…

It’s a wonder we hate,
when we all have a fate,
that though born to wait,
we’ll all copulate.

Then, with heart like a drum,
pulse and blood make a sum,
together, or alone in a slum,
we’ll all some day…

When at last you have moaned,
or perhaps groaned,
fingers tense and dethroned,
everyone loves to …

When it’s over that’s it,
the sore, used up bit,
of the partner thus quit,
she calls it a…

Ah, innuendo you see,
it needs not to flee,
nor even be,
more than a few syllables,
of rhymery.

So sturdy your ruck,
plough through the muck,
or go ‘n get stuck,
however you do it,
just go have a…

Poetry-Thing Thursday: Tech Feelers

Ones and Zeroes
I play the Heroes.
Fantastical realms,
with steel and magical helms.

Engage the light.
Speeds are a fright.
When quantum theory,
becomes computer literary.

With a click and a whir,
holo-screen’s a-blur.
and keys that click and clack,
have become mere thoughts that stack.

Petabytes of information,
become moments of frustration,
as knowledge transforms
and ascends in cyber-storms.

When wi-fi is all around us,
and web 2.0 evolves in a fuss,
the bytes and the bits,
still will not quit.

So don’t fear the future,
or technology,
and don’t try to fight it,
just wait and see–
For reality is realer
when lived with tech feelers

The Omega Device: Coming Soon!

Coming Soon!The Omega Device

Book I of the Ha-Shan Chronicles

When Tattooist Maggie Doherty’s client is found murdered, Detective Russell Williams discovers an identical tattoo on another, recent murder-victim. Her obvious innocence leaves Russell perplexed, and with little more than a promise of future aid from her.

But their brief association has unwittingly made them targets for a group known only as Omega. Both must swiftly accept that life as they know it has changed, and prepare to uncover secrets buried by time, or else fall in a battle that might determine the very fate of Humanity.

Excerpt, Chapter 6: Fight or Flight

Soft steps propelled her instincts. In a flash, she was digging in a cabinet, grabbing what she could. Bottles flew over the counter with reckless aim. The man grunted, cracked more shots off, then dodged from view.

She glanced at a single bottle of drain cleaner remaining. His heavy feet sounded. Her hands flew, grasped a large knife from a drawer. The feet hesitated. A hand unscrewed the cleaner’s cap.

Her heart pounded. Steps began again, reached the doorway. Maggie slid up the wall, flattened against it. She felt him shift for a view of the kitchen…
